It’s autumn here in Australia but cooking with berries over the last week has made me think of spring. I thought I’d design a favor box to go with the Strawberries and Cream Truffles I posted yesterday. The box is decorated with pretty flowers using a soft spring palette. These are DIY boxes so you can print them at home and fill them with all sorts of treats. I like the idea of chocolates but you could also use them for fudge, brownies or even soap.
The template is free to download and you can print them on your home colour printer. I printed them on plain cardstock from an office supply store however you can use any card suitable for your printer. If your printer isn’t up to the task you could get them printed at a digital print shop but I would get a sample first.
Making these little boxes is a fun to do with friends – particularly if you have lots to do for a large event! They are simple to make. I have added some pictures below showing the steps.
Equipment needed: Ruler, craft knife or scissors, double-sided tape and a butterknife or bone folder.
- Print out the template using a colour printer onto cardstock. Make sure it prints at 100%. Check your printer setting for what the maximum thickness it takes and how it is fed in (eg rear envelope feed).
- Using a butter knife or bone folder tool, gently score along the dotted lines.
- Cut out the shape with a craft knife and ruler or with scissors.
- Fold up the box and secure with double sided tape where indicated.
Please Note: There may be slight colour variations from your computer screen to print.
