Hey!
I'm Jenny and I love to bake and cook!
Some of my earliest memories are being in the kitchen helping to bake birthday cakes and baking all the Christmas goodies we'd bring to family parties.
I love making pies, cobblers, cookies, and cupcakes. It pretty much doesn't matter what type of baking it is, I enjoy it.
I've found over the years that the more you bake, the more you just intuitively know to add more or less of something or if something needs tweaked in order to turn out just right.
Growing up it was common to be in the kitchen baking something with my Mom or sisters. Especially around the holidays.
We still get together to do some of our baking, although now the kitchen is a lot more crowded with all of our kids.
As teenagers, my sister and I were responsible for making one dinner each week for our family. We could make whatever we wanted, we just needed to make sure my parents knew what ingredients we needed to have picked up from the store.
It was around this time that my sister who was in college decided all of us sisters should be in charge of Thanksgiving. I'll never forget cleaning out that first turkey and realizing we had to actually stick our hands inside it. There was a ton of laughter and joking around and I can't think of a better way to learn how to cook then to be surrounded by good family.
I kept those cooking skills in the back recesses of my mind until I was married and pregnant with my first child and realized I wanted to be eating healthier. I found a love of growing as much of our own food as possible and cooking from scratch that I didn't have before. I also found a love for trying new food and experimenting in the kitchen.
I'm hoping I can pass on to you some of the baking and cooking knowledge I've acquired over the years and share some of my tried and true recipes that are delicious!
